Rodley Cricket Club held their end of year cricket do on the 20th October at Pudsey St Lawrence. A new award donated to the club by Dad's brother David was given out in Dad's memory. The club decided to award it to the 'Junior Player of the Year', as Dad was dedicated to bringing youngsters to the club. David was over from Hong Kong and gave out the award and he was very proud to represent Dad. Dad also left his cricket friends some money to have a drink on him, which I put behind the bar for people to enjoy and think about Dad. I enjoyed hearing some wonderful stories about Dad from Phil and Dan at the bar whilst enjoying a drink from Dad. The night ended with one of Dad's favourite songs by Madness playing, so many of us got up for a 'skank', with Phil taking the lead of course! Half of the money raised will go to Dad's tribute fund, and the other half will go to the Heart Foundation, to commemorate Dave Fenton, who also sadly passed away this year. It was a wonderful evening, and very comforting being surrounded by everyone who loved Dad as much as I did.
