This site is dedicated to the memory of my amazing Dad, Mark Dufton.

Mark Dufton was born in Leeds on 9th July 1955. Sadly he was taken from us way too early at the age of 56 and passed away surrounded by family and friends on 8th February 2012. Dad was very brave through out his illness, and fought it with dignity and bravery. This site is to encourage people to share their thoughts and memories of Dad, so he is never forgotten. People can also make contributions to the 'Mark Dufton Tribute Fund' through this website, all money goes to Wheatfields Hospice, who were amazing in caring for Dad. I would like to thank everyone so far for their contributions, both at the funeral and since. So far the total raised is an amazing £6131.21! I update photos, music and fundraising details every now and again, so please check regularly for updates and also I would love people to add photos or stories of their own. Love you so much Dad and you are always in my thoughts and heart xxx

Rodley Cricket Club

Sum raised at the Club's Presentation night in 2012. A similar sum will be donated to Diabetes UK. The annual event usually celebrates the achievements of the players and saw the inaugural presentation of the Mark Dufton Memorial Cup to Dylan Schofield. The new award will be presented to the junior player of the year each year in memory of Mark. The award was kindly donated by his brother David, who travelled over from Hong Kong to present the award. The night allowed us to remember and celebrate the contribution to the club of Mark and also David Fenton who both passed away in 2012.

Thoughts

Mark so many memories, and so much time has passed by, I can imagine the conversations we would have about the pandemic and the comments you would say which make me giggle not cry today. Rest in Peace

Dear Mark, another year, another email to remind me. Felt really emotional this year when it popped up. You used to make me smile so much with your humour, made the days in that Mushroom Shed, as we used to call it, much more bearable. Where has all that time gone. Lesley x

Lost you 12 years ago- I miss you every day and think about you all the time. I am starting fundraising in your memory today- I am running again.
